THE POEM THAT TOOK THE PLACE OF A MOUNTAIN (2018-2019)
This body of work was initiated in the summer of 2018 during a two-month stay at the McDonald Observatory, a research and educational institution situated on two of the highest peaks within the Davis Mountains of West Texas.
Inspired both by the astronomical studies of the observatory and the remote landscape it occupies, The Poem that Took the Place of a Mountain integrates the visual languages of the sciences and informational imagery with the poetry and subjectivity of landscape drawing.
